Hello,
I'm Elizabeth (Liz).
I'm 25 years old and I currently live in Farnham, Surrey. I am a graduate of BA (Hons) Photography at UCA Farnham and I am a retoucher.

I wanted to be able to recreate the moments that grasp my attention in my artistic work and I feel that photography allowed me to do this.
I have been constantly searching for my next photographic fix with my camera in hand, ever since discovering the world of film and the darkroom during my photography GCSE.
After this time, I began to experiment with Jasc Paint Shop Pro and eventually Adobe Photoshop, this has led me to becoming comfortable with retouching.

I discovered the work of the photographer Lee Friedlander especially his photographs that subvert the viewer's original opinion.
He does this by using reflections, shadows and instances of human presence.
This makes me look at his images and analyse all of the elements as I find his compositions to be very distinctive and stimulating compared to other photographers.
I have also always been enamoured with the work of Ansel Adams whom I hope to emulate in my work as I find his work both beautiful but with an underlying message of conservation,
which is a theme that I find my work often leaning towards.

I love wildlife & nature photography and I dabble in several other things, such as; backyard astrophotography, portraiture and urban landscape/architectural photography
eventually basing my BTEC Final Major Project on this subject.
In my current photographic practice I explore a variety of ideas and subjects, supported by documentary imagery and portraiture all of which add to a wide variety of skills,
both technical and theoretical which support and promote my innovative flair.

Digital: Canon 5D Mark III, Canon 1000D, Canon 100mm f2.8L Macro USM IS, Canon 17-40mm f4L, Canon MP-E 65mm f/2.8 1-5x, USM Canon EFS 18-55mm f3.5-5.6,
Sigma 70-300mm f4.0-5.6 APO DG Macro, Canon EF 50mm f. 1.8 and a variety of filters.
Film: Canon 1000FN (35mm), Coronet Twelve-20 Box Camera (120), Holga 120N
Software: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Camera Raw
